Spain offers an infinity of exquisite cheeses. One of the best known outside of Spain, is probably Manchego Cheese, an excellent candidate, without a doubt.
But today we would like to focus and talk to you about a different cheese, also very recognized in our country and outside it, which has won Important Awards
La TORTA DEL CASAR D.O.P.
With its creamy, soft and slightly firm texture, it melts on the palate leaving a soft but intense flavor, very little salty and with a characteristic sour-bitter touch.
Torta del Casar is made with raw sheep milk and is from the region of Extremadura.
The cheese matures at least 60 days, in a cold and humid environment, where periodic flips are given, to achieve the consistency of its crust.
The outer appearance of Torta del Casar is a cylindrical shape, with dry, smooth and waxy crust.
Recommendation for consumption:
We advise you to remove the Cheese from the refrigerator about 30 minutes before consuming it and leave it at rest at room temperature.
Cut the top, as if it were a lid.
Now you can "bathe" for example some PEAKS in the Cheese, to taste and enjoy its flavor.
Or you spread some toast, if you prefer to present it on a plate. The choice is yours - the taste is exquisite the same!
And for the final touch, you can accompany it with a Red Wine with high alcohol content, type RIOJA or Ribera del Guadiana or Cavas type Brut
